Academic endeavors.

So studying isn't always fun... especially when the pressure of exams and papers really builds up.  But if you think about it, learning is a great thing, and I realize that I've really come to appreciate my education.  I've had some very special teachers along the way, and two that came to mind were Mrs. Twidwell (my third grade teacher) and Mrs. Batchelor (my eighth grade English teacher).  Mrs. Twidwell was just the sweetest old lady, and Mrs. Batchelor was a true inspiration.  Other notables include Ms. Robinette (eleventh grade English) and Ms. Missakian (AP English).  I guess you can see a trend with my affections for English teachers.  There's something about writing that is so intimate, so connective, and so human.  I feel like I grew most as a writer under the guidance of Ms. Missakian.  (She is remembered in missakian street.)  Since being in college I haven't had much opportunity to work on the craft of writing, though I hope to somewhere along the way.

the twidwell-batchelor school is the place for papers, essays, reports, and everything else academic from years past.  I've always wanted to archive my works in a place other than an unreliable floppy disk, so here it is.  Grab a seat in the Wildcat Library or in Providence Hall and get ready for class!

Providence Hall : Collegiate works.

semester 02  ///   ENGLISH 049
works from english 49, "introduction to shakespeare."  we read all's well that ends well, macbeth, and the comedy of errors, among several others.  the class required three play-specific essays and one final synthesis paper.  overall a good class that helped me to appreciate shakespeare a little more.

semester 02  ///   JUDAIC STUDIES 099
works from judaic studies 99, "god and poetry."  a study of poetry in the biblical books of psalms and job, as well as medieval and contemporary poetry.  an overall interesting class with a very accessible professor--jacobson.  classmates included sarah kwon, grace cheung, teddy youn, and marya van der eb, and the total enrollment was around 10.

semester 03  ///   HISTORY OF ART + ARCHITECTURE 001
works from history of art + architecture 001, "introduction to the history of art + architecture."  a comprehensive review of art and architecture from prehistoric to postmodern periods.  two essays, midterm, and final, with week weekly section discussions.  classmates included terri chiao, grace cheung, clare johnson, and zoe lewis.  an overall good course to take, though i struggled.  (just ask grace.)

semester 03  ///   KOREAN 030
works from history of art + architecture 001, "introduction to the history of art + architecture."  a comprehensive review of art and architecture from prehistoric to postmodern periods.  two essays, midterm, and final, with week weekly section discussions.  classmates included terri chiao, grace cheung, clare johnson, and zoe lewis.  an overall good course to take, though i struggled.  (just ask grace.)

semester 03  ///   SOCIOLOGY 103
a work from sociology 103, "organizational theories of the public and private sector."  i came to love sociology 103--it's one of the foundational courses for my concentration.  find here a notebook of journals regarding organizations.
